TASI Lectures on the Holographic Principle TASI Lectures on Introduction to the AdS/CFT Correspondence Supersymmetric Gauge Theories and the AdS/CFT Correspondence Large N Field Theories, String Theory and Gravity Additional references are provided in the related resources section. Specific suggested readings lecture-by-lecture are provided in the readings section. Below are some string theory references as well as a list of books and papers which we may find useful. Unfortunately, there isn’t a textbook yet which follows the path in store for us. The second option is to write a brief paper doing the same. I’ll provide a list of appropriate subjects. The first option is to give a brief talk summarizing a result of interest to the class. To help in writing up the lectures notes, I will give the scribe a copy of my written notes, and maybe an audio recording of the lecture. After (hopefully minor) revisions, I will post them for the rest of the students to see. Scribe notes: each lecture, one person will volunteer to be the scribe for that lecture, and is responsible for taking notes and texing them up and sending them to me.There will be three kinds of coursework this semester:

Previous exposure to string theory recommended but not essential. GR, QFT or sufficient willingness to temporarily suspend disbelief. Relativistic Quantum Field Theory II (8.324) Preparation This will be a one-semester class about gauge/gravity duality (often called AdS/CFT) and its applications. It turns out that string theory is useful. Lectures: 2 session / week, 1.5 hours / session Summary Arrow_back browse course material library_books Course Meeting Times
